It’s easy to lift the Compostabin up, this leaves a cone of materials at different states of decomposition. You can then check whether the compost at the bottom of the heap is ready.
This should take between 6 and 12 months, depending onthe time of year, where you’ve sited your bin and what you’ve put init.
If some of the compost is crumbly and earth-like it is ready to use so:
1. Place the bin on soil beside your cone of materials.
2. Fork the unready material back into the bin till you reach the compost you want to use. This forking provides all the turning your heap will need.
3. Shovel the good compost into a barrow to use in the garden.
